Many people who come to me with digestive concerns have already removed gluten, then dairy, then a growing list of other foods, and still feel bloated and uncomfortable. Restriction alone rarely heals the gut. Over time, it often leaves you with fewer foods you tolerate and less nourishment overall.

I start by understanding what is actually happening. A careful health history often reveals a great deal, and when testing is warranted, a GI-MAP can identify infections, bacterial overgrowth, and imbalances that would otherwise go unnoticed. The goal is a gut that tolerates a varied, nourishing diet again.

A client's experience: A busy mother in her thirties came to me after a lifetime of bloating and digestive discomfort. We worked through her history and daily habits together, and I made sure she understood how her digestive system works. Her GI-MAP revealed an H. pylori infection along with several bacterial overgrowths. She followed a targeted protocol closely, and within four weeks she had more energy and, for the first time in years, was no longer bloated every day. (Individual results vary.)

Thyroid health is personal to me. I lived with Hashimoto's for years before it was identified, so I understand how frustrating it is to be told your thyroid is fine based on a single TSH result.

TSH is a useful screening tool, but it does not show how well your body converts and uses thyroid hormone, or whether your immune system is involved. When appropriate, I recommend a complete panel that includes free T3, free T4, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies. I also look at what influences thyroid function day to day, including iron, selenium, and iodine status, blood sugar regulation, and chronic stress.

If you already take thyroid medication, I work alongside your prescribing provider and focus on the nutrition and lifestyle support that helps your body respond well.

An autoimmune diagnosis often comes with a treatment plan but very little guidance on what you can do yourself. Your diet, stress levels, and daily habits matter, and that is where I focus.

Autoimmune conditions tend to develop when genetic susceptibility meets ongoing triggers such as gut permeability, chronic inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, or environmental exposures. Together, we identify which of these are relevant for you and address them steadily over time. For many clients, this includes a structured elimination and reintroduction period, close attention to gut health, and anti-inflammatory nutrition built around whole foods.

This work is meant to complement the care you receive from your physician, and I am always glad to coordinate with them.

Painful or heavy periods, significant PMS, irregular cycles, and the shifts of perimenopause are common, but they are signals worth investigating rather than symptoms you have to endure. If birth control has been presented as your only option, there is often more to explore.

I look at hormones in context. Blood sugar balance, stress hormones, liver function, and gut health all influence how your body produces and clears estrogen and progesterone. When testing would be helpful, a DUTCH panel can map your sex and adrenal hormones along with how your body is metabolizing them.

Whether you are navigating PCOS, endometriosis, coming off hormonal birth control, or entering perimenopause, the plan is built around your cycle and your stage of life.

Preparing for pregnancy deserves the same care and intention as pregnancy itself. The months before conception are a valuable window to replenish nutrients, regulate your cycle, and reduce exposures that can affect egg quality and early development.

For women hoping to conceive within the next year or two, preconception support may include nutrient testing and repletion, cycle tracking and education, thyroid and blood sugar support, and practical guidance on lowering your toxin load at home.

If you are already working with an OB or fertility specialist, I am happy to coordinate with them so your care stays consistent.

What I Can Help You With

Many of the people I work with have spent years searching for answers. They have been told their lab work is normal and have started to wonder whether feeling exhausted and out of balance is simply something to accept. In my experience, it rarely is.
